TONS, but here's a short list of authors and fics that I adore. All of the following authors are absolute inspirations to me and I thank them for putting their creations into the world, for us to read.

Just a heads up, I adore dark content so a lot of the writers and fics I will recommend will contain said content.

@seoafin writes for Jujutsu Kaisen, but they also have some writings for Trigun. Their characterizations are incredibly on point and I adore their takes on Geto and Gojo, including the dynamics between them + the protagonist of their AU ripverse.

@strawberrygodzilla has a fic about Zenos that BEATS ASS and their character voice for Zenos (and every other character including the WOL) is so clear and accurate like every time they write Zenos's dialogue I'm like... "wow, he really WOULD say that". I've teared up several times reading their fic here, at the end of all things.

@chickenparm, whose profile I religiously check on ao3 and just discovered has a blog on tumblr, writes BANGER Genshin fanfics with to die for smut. Their fics about Childe are among my favorite. Give of Yourself has stuck with me in particular.

@softagenda has been providing the Touchstarved fandom with easily some of its best fanfictions, expanding on concepts introduced in the demo and adding some of their own world building. My favorite fic of theirs is silver linings.

@ddarker-dreams just has a way of writing and worldbuilding that really takes my breath away. The amount of depth and forethought put into her Blade fic, Nexus, still stuns and awes me a month after its completion. She's written heaps for Genshin Impact and is now starting on a JJK series. She also writes a lot about Chrollo Lucifer, from HxH. I haven't watched a single episode of the show, but she has somehow made me invested in this character. Whenever I see mention of him elsewhere, I go "ah, the man ddarker-dreams writes about".

@lorelune writes for Genshin Impact, Honkai Star Rail and JJK. I love their work but their little blurbs they post every now and then also completely have my whole heart. their hybrid AU Blade fic hell is a hound without a chain has been living in my head ever since they dropped it. I adore their characterization of Blade and Jing Yuan in particular! Their Gojo fic dawn instinct hits me so hard.

@agent-cupcake writes for FFXIV AND JJK but I found them through Fire Emblem Three Houses. I've been following their work for awhile and I adore each and every piece. Their prose is beautiful and their dark content is to die for. I'm biased so my favorite piece is Asteria, but I also am continuously obsessed with Raison D'etre, Vae Victis (FFXIV), Femme Fatale and living idly and dying as if dreaming.

@hawnks is a fantastic writer who I discovered through her soulmate AU fics. coincide and the first law of motion are absolute classics, but she's been writing a soulmate series for Gojo which has been utterly fascinating for far. I would also like to thank her for introducing me and many others to Guideverse which I would love to write something on in the future!

Tumblr only just showed me that @ksjundel2003 tagged me with this just now, as technology does. I'll always take the chance to ramble (also thank u for the compliment ahhh :D). These ended up being essays hahahaaaha

1. Three Ships: Uhhh so I'm in a weird place where I'm not actively shipping anything. Like don't get me wrong I still love many ships (I'm a super multi shipper, I have no idea how people dedicate their online everything to one ship) I'm just currently not actively pursuing certain ship tags rn... Hmm hxh's return reminded me of how much I love Leopika, I got into fe3h in this last year and I've read a silly amount of dimiclaude. Also finally got around to getting into mp100 and Terumob is so cute.

Genshin thats what people are here for but if I'm honest while I still am very into the game, I haven't read genshin fic consistently for a while and thats how I interact with shipping the most. Like I love Chili, theres a reason I have plans for that ship, but I haven't read a fic with them in forever (and in the more recent examples it was me searching for found fam harb content). I also adore Kaebedo but same story. I love a lot of genshin ships, many 'contradictory' (love Zhongven as well for example), I just haven't been brainrotting about any of them for a while. God that sounds so morose pfft, its really me just letting my brain take a break and experience other things! Also just know I do think about the final planned Zhongli and Childe scene in this fic (well for the main fic at least) every once in a while and grin like a loon. Hehehe I love it so much and rip its so far away (though also once I get there it'll be right near the end and that thought makes me sad).

Also I think about my fic specific ships a lot too. Sandy and Nella for example have a scene that brings me much amusement in a couple chapters (those 2 always bring me joy). Also I've been recently thinking about the ot3 that's a big old spoiler. There's this angsty but also hopeful romantic scene that's been banging around in my head that I literally can't use in my fic it doesn't work with the timeline. But I love it, maybe an eventual bonus chap. (all I'll say on this ot3 is that at least 1 person is a harb). And taras x any harb that isn't his bro, my favorite running gag I take too seriously. Also Madame Volkov x Tsar, I can't wait to reveal why that ship cracks me up (also weirdly angsty).

2. First ever ship: God I don't know. Probably amuto from Shugo Chara (I was elementary/middle school, the age gap did not clock as weird then). However my first ship with taste was Soulsilvershipping from pokemon (god we need to bring back that ship name format, so fun). I didn't have fictional crushes the same way most seemed to, however what was close enough was Silver Pokemon my beloved. He spawned my love of grumpy long haired red heads so when I saw Diluc for the first time I remember going fuck I'm gonna love him (and I did haha).

3. Last song: uhhh fun fact I'm not a music person at all. As a child I hated it pfft, while I grew out of that I still have no idea what I'm doing with it. 90% of the music I listen to is from animatics (and back in the day from amvs) or musicals because plot. And u know u find a lot of musicals because of animatics its a cycle. However saying that I was listening to Ricky Montgomery, idk why.

4. Last movie: my parents were like we're watching a movie as a fam and in true Christmas spirit we watched Top Gun Maverick pfft. tbh the movie was fine but not the stunning piece of cinema everyone seemed to be saying... also super military propaganda but we all knew that

5. Currently reading? I'm catching up on the Ascendance of a Bookworm Light Novels (I'm on the last book in part 4 and I have part 5 #1 ready). I've also been really slowly reading through (and got back into after almost a year accidental break) Lout of the Counts Family. Also hunter x hunter (my brain is filled with Sheila theories, despite being the Harbinger found fam fic writer I don't care about the troop lol, just Sheila). I also have some DC comics open in my tabs because I want to watch the newest comicpop back issues episode. Its sort of strange I've been on a reading fan fic break of sorts haha, reading lots of original stuff.

6. Currently watching? uhhhh Mob Psycho though that just ended. Also me and my sis are watching Miraculous together. We used to watch it years ago and we are watching all the stuff we missed and cringing. I also am constantly watching lots of video essays, love a good video essay to put on while doing other things like playing genshin/art/etc

7. Currently consuming? We have a holiday party every year and my dad makes his amazing to die for lasagna (we are not remotely italian, but everyone we know says its amazing). So I've been eating those leftovers and having a time.

8. Currently craving? validation uhhh free time maybe. I had so much free time while I was away at school (well more like I should have been working on stuff time, but it was time I could organize myself). I'm home and between Christmas and parties and my grandparents/Cousins/feels like everyone visiting I've had no time for myself. I love seeing my cute baby cousins I don't get to see too often but its a lot. Also a job, I don't want to have to job but it'll get my mother off my case.

Well that ended on a too serious note haha. Also this was way too long and I have no idea who to tag and I'm anxious so uh, no one I guess. I must now return to my chaotic life, as one does.

You and Kite had been associates for a protracted period by now. Your interest and love for animals and conservation for nature merited you a place in Kite's team. With time you and Kite grew closer, much closer than the others. Kite and all the team use a building specifically for living and researching.

You and Kite sat in his room. A comfortable silence encompassed the air as you both worked; him on his laptop, and you handled the manuscripts.

You sneakily lifted your gaze and watched him work. His silver hair shined as sunlight danced on them. His slender, ghostly fingers transcribed furiously on the laptop. Every once in a while, he paused to admire his progress, cracked his knuckles, and started working again.

You noticed that he threw his head back while working. His bangs moved up when he rolled his head back, and down again when he sat straight. He huffed in annoyance and blew his hair out of his face.

You snorted and slowly got up to get a hairbrush and band.

"Sit straight," you ordered as Kite looked at you, bewildered.

You smiled languidly," sit straight so I can tie do your hair, it has been irritating you for a while now,"

He laughed, his dulcet voice embraced the air like the evening perfume of night blossoms. He sat on the bed as the chair was a bit higher for you, "my hair is now all yours, your highness."

You took a part of his hair, kept your hand under it and slowly ran the brush, being as gentle as possible. You did the same with all of his hair, unknotting, any knots in them. You decided to have a little fun, so you started braiding his hair. You tugged on one side, securing it.

"EEP!" Kite overreacted.

"I am so sorry!" you panicked.

"Nah-Nah I was just joking."You hit his head with the other side of the brush.

Your hands moved swiftly, plaiting his mane, which made perhaps the most beautiful braid ever.

"Done, Rapunzel." You grinned, proudly.

Kite looked at himself in the mirror, "Looks nice," he said softly.

He turned towards you and cupped your face in his cold hands. His soft lips grazed your forehead and kissed your temple.

"Thank you."

Currently reading: ongoing series are Ao no Exorcist, Boruto, Spy x Family, Akatsuki no Yona (against all my better judgment at this point lmao), and D.Gray-man (like... 3-4 times a year when it updates T_T). Plus fanfic here and there, though I’ve become extremely picky about it.

Last series I watched: Hunter x Hunter (1999) -- almost done with it! I’ve been enjoying this version much more than I thought I would, thought it does leave a lot to be desired (esp the Greed Island arc OVAs >.>)

Last movie I watched: Ah. Hm. I can’t remember, if we’re talking non-animated movie. Animated movie would be the second HxH movie, The Last Mission. Super enjoyable, I gobbled up all the Hisoka & Kurapika crumbs it offered like my life depended on it XD

Currently working on: ... so much T___T  I’ve got a Winx Valtor/Bloom multichap fic plus six one-shots; a WITCH Phobos/Will post-comic series multichap fic plus a couple of Phobos/Will one-shots set in an alternate canon divergent timeline; a FFXIV post-Endwalker ZenosWoL multichap fic plus seven one-shots (featuring Zenos, WoL, Estinien, and Emet primarily); ten Hakuouki one-shots (Hijikata/Yukimura, but generally including the whole gang); two Hunter x Hunter one-shots (Hisoka & Kurapika; Hisoka, Kurapika, Illumi); eight Naruto one-shots (featuring an OC, Orochimaru, his snake family, etc.). And my Bleach longfic, which I really do want to finish. And now I’m contemplating a post-Shippuden through Boruto-Era Itachi-is-alive fic (: And that’s just the writing lmao. I have at least eighteen more FFXIV drawings and six HxH drawings I have planned out. I’m almost done styling Zenos’ wig, and I’m waiting for more hairspray to arrive so I can restyle Itachi’s bangs (I don’t like them X_X). OH, and maintaining my balcony garden through the summer heat!

(I tend to run around like a chipmunk chipping away at multiple things at once instead of focusing on one and finishing it before working on another, which is probably why I can never get things done and posted on a regular basis XD Though, if my brain would stop shoving new ideas down my throat, that would actually help a ton.)

But from these depths rose a - hero was not the right word. The have-nots loved him and the haves feared him, hated him, wondered who this mole was in their ranks who took the upper echelon’s dirty laundry and flung it out to dry. Backroom deals and recordings made it to the paper. Especially corrupt or violent officials were left strung up (alive, though he didn’t seem to care much if they lasted or not) with clippings of their wrongdoings fluttering around them.

To some, he was a folk hero. To others, he was a nightmare given flesh. To all he was a reckoning dressed in black and silver and red.

He signed his letters and elaborately staged scenes with Bloody Chain.

book of secrets 10: not said to me

notes: a tense shift to indicate the PAST! it was done deliberately. kinda nice to write in the past tense again for fic. not sure why I don’t for hxh. G, gon and mito, gon and kite. 1200 words

Gon was little when he decided he wanted to know a secret no one would tell him.

The Book of Secrets was that—Gon’s secret, one tucked carelessly behind Ging’s old bookshelf, in a room Aunt Mito had long since locked and thrown away the key. But Gon like secrets, and he liked challenges, and the forbidden room in their too-small bungalow of a home was as tantalizing a mystery as the ocean salt baked into the old boat or the number of mushrooms in the forest out back. And the secrets that the room revealed, a stranger with Gon’s eyes with a smile glittering out of a time-stained photo and a book made of magic?

The stranger with Gon’s eyes had left it behind. Whoever the stranger was, whatever he had wanted, all that was left was a book—no, a Book, even Gon knew that the Book warranted the capital letter, which he had learned meant important words. A Book, and a note for someone named Kite. He wasn’t the best at reading—his teachers never gave him the biggest books, and they never tried to make him write book reports like some of the others. But Gon could piece together the words one sound at a time, and the Book helped as much as it could once Gon figured out how to ask.

Whoever Kite was, Gon wanted to know. Fortunately, it didn’t take long.

“You had promised—” Aunt Mito was saying with the same tone she usually reserved for when Gon broke the dinner plates or when he forgot he was supposed to come home before sundown. It’s not a tone for adults, even ones so tall they have to stoop to stand comfortably in the doorway. Gon had never thought anyone could be so tall, or have such long hair, or wear hats indoors.

The stranger—not the one with Gon’s eyes, but with an apologetic smile and shadows deep across his long lean face—didn’t respond to Aunt Mito, but looked over her shoulder straight at Gon. Gon, because he knew he had to be polite to adults, waved. The stranger smiled, a strange thin-lipped expression that stretched across his face like a cat’s, and Aunt Mito snarled. Oh, that was a cool noise. Gon wondered if he could make it too. Maybe not now, though, Aunt Mito was mad enough.

“Out,” she yelled, and even though the stranger was taller than her Gon knew no one could overshadow his mom’s ability to yell. “Out, out, out.”

The stranger sighed. “I can’t,” he said. “I promised Ging.”

“He promised he would leave us alone.”

“And I promised I’d look after his son.” The stranger waved back at Gon, eyes crinkling in the shadows of his hat. “You must be Gon.”

Aunt Mito snarled again, and Gon didn’t think it was as cool that time. It sounded scary, and scared. “No,” she said. “No, your promise doesn’t count. Get out of my house.”

A bright star glimmered under the edge of the stranger’s hat, there and gone before Gon can wonder what it was. “Could I talk to him, please?”

She shoved him, and he stumbled back, long legs tripping across the doorstop. “Get out, Kite. Gon is my son, not his. He gave up that privilege when he left. So tell him to go fu—stick it.”

“But Mito—”

The door slammed in the stranger’s face hard enough that Gon felt the floor shake beneath his feet, a little earthquake right through his mom. Aunt Mito leaned against the hard wood of the front door with a hand over her eyes. She was tired, even more tired than when she didn’t come home from work until after Gon was supposed to be in bed or when she had too many drinks from the dark glass bottles.

Gon waited long enough to know no more shaking would happen before padding over to her on bare feet. “Why can’t I talk to him, Aunt Mito?”

She leaned down to hug him. “Don’t worry, Gon. He’s no one.”

Gon shook his head hard and fast, the world blurring. “You called him Kite! He’s not no one.”

A smile twitched in her scowl. “A name doesn’t mean anything. Don’t listen to that.”

“But he said I’m someone’s son. Who’s my dad?”

Aunt Mito’s green eyes burned a little red around the edges. “No one you should worry about.”

“But Aunt Mito—”

“Your dad doesn’t matter, either,” she said, her tone making sure there was no argument. “You’re my son. No one else’s.”

It felt bad. His mom was tired, and Gon was too little to do anything. But he also wanted to know, so so badly.

That night, he opened the Book, carefully tracing words in black ink across plain white pages, words so much smaller than the books the school gave him. But they felt big, as big as the stranger in the doorway, as big as the biggest tree in the forest or the smell of ocean in the seams of the boat, and Gon knew that whatever secret Aunt Mito kept from him, he had his own. And he would know who Kite was.

The Book knew. It didn’t say so, but it felt that way. So Gon spoke the words to make it real, marking his window with the same little white lights that had danced beneath Kite’s hat, glittering teardrops of sunlight dancing across the dark of his room. Gon laughed, even if he tried to bottle it up beneath a pillow, and jumped after them. He couldn’t let Aunt Mito see. She would ask about it, and Gon knows she would never let him try again.

He had nearly caught all of the lights when a pale hand rapped at his window. With most of the little suns clasped under an arm, Gon carefully tiptoed over to open it, nearly tripping as his fingers pried open the lock. A few of the bright tears spilled out of his arms, and before he knew it the whole armful was tumbled out to the floor and bouncing back in the air, only a few caught between his fingers and in his hair.

The stranger—Kite stared at the lights around the room with a confusing expression. He was too big for Gon’s little room, and he had to fold himself in two to fit through the window. A few of the lights bounced off the walls, hitting him in the head hard enough to make his hat fall off.

“Did you do this?” he asked, voice low and strange, unfamiliar. It didn’t sound like he was angry, not like Aunt Mito would be, but he wasn’t exactly pleased, and Gon couldn’t figure out what he meant. It was like trying to read one of the too-big words in the Book, the meaning there but not really. Gon didn’t understand. Without the soft white hat, Kite is narrow-eyed and silver haired and practically ancient, older than Aunt Mito even. Would Gon be that old someday, too? Would he know the right words then?

So he didn’t lie. “I found it in the Book,” he said. “I wanted to see Kite, so it showed me how.”

Kite paused, taking in the suns bouncing around the room, his long white hair glimmering in shades of gold. “You really are Ging’s son,” he said, and smiled.

Gon blinked. “Who’s Ging?”

Among Teeth & Brimstones Summary: Meteor Grove, a large but isolated village, surrounded by endless forest is plagued with many misfortunes. Resources, criminals, but worse of all, there is a werewolf crisis. So many children were found dead with their necks nearly bitten off was a monthly occurrence. However, those who survived... well... Truth to be told, no one knew. Every kid who's been bitten has been taken away. Sarasa, a young girl who survived a werewolf attack only to be taken away was the final straw for the Troupe. Half of them became trained by a famous Werewolf Hunter, Renko for five years while the rest stayed in the village.

Things took a turn when Phinks was bitten, with Shalnark being his only witness. Fearful of Phinks sharing the same fate as Sarasa; Phinks and Shalnark decided to keep this secret between them. Trying to find a cure while keeping their friends protected in the dark. Unfortunately, their sudden change of behavior was misread by everyone else, and now... Feitan and Chrollo come home finding themselves in unexpected romantic drama.

2019 Fic Summary!

I see a lot of artists posting their year end art summaries around this time but unfortunately there’s no real equivalent for fanfic writers? So I decided to make my own! ^-^

Below is a summary of the different fics I’ve written this year! I wrote a lot more than I initially thought and I am really happy with how I’ve improved. Thank you to everyone who has supported me and my works <3

Excerpt: It’s an odd thing for Sybil to hear. She’s always had her own opinions, of course. It’s the reason why her father thinks she’s a bloodborne Gryffindor, after all. Excerpt: Killua’s cheeks warm. He struggles to come up with something to say, but all he can focus on is the silent strength of Gon’s grip, the calloused texture of his palm against Killua’s. The setting sun is warm on his back and today has already turned out to be the most incredible and unbelievable day Killua has ever had. Meeting his soulmate’s mom can’t change that, right?

Excerpt: Adora doesn’t say a word, and the tension between them suddenly swells. It buzzes in the air like a live, palpable thing. Catra swallows and forces herself to breathe evenly. She dares to drag her fingers across Adora’s skin, feeling the slight thrum of Adora’s pulse under her skin. From there she follows the curve up to Adora’s palm and traces the creases there. Adora’s hands are the same size as hers, not too big and not too small. Catra remembers when they were younger thinking how perfectly they fit together.

Excerpt: The rest of Killua’s stumbling apology was quieted by Gon’s mouth being shoved against his. Gon’s hands cupped Killua’s jaw, fingers digging into Killua’s burning cheeks as the ex-Hunter kissed him enthusiastically. Killua closed his eyes and returned Gon’s kiss, tasting cinnamon and smelling pine and feeling that all-consuming and ever present warmth Gon constantly exuded.

3: There’s a couple paragraphs I really like as a whole, but my favorite single line of narration would be: “It seemed to him then like a mirror world of his own home, where the stars stretched endlessly over the black, black sea.”

4: My favorite line of dialogue... ahh... “I don’t think this is a good world for someone like you. You’re like a wild animal trapped in a menagerie. It's nothing but walls.”

11: The best part of this fic for me is the “secret moon men” thing, even aside from the way it’s used in the closing line. There’s a joke in (i think) the Beverly Hillbillies where the son of the family reads a silver-age scifi comic about Moon Men, and wants to find a moon-woman to marry. I loved the idea of Gon also having this kind of relationship with American media where he’s mostly read old obscure comics from the silver age. “moon men” has such a specific vibe to it: it’s alien while being still almost within Earth’s reach, it’s evocative of all the things the moon is associated with, and it straddles the line between an expectation of humanoid and nonhumanoid bodies.

Summary: When life follows routine, it's comfortable, like a complete puzzle piece. When happiness and fate intertwine, every piece has its perceived purpose. Chrollo fits here, Shalnark fits there, and... oops.

From the nostalgic Meteor City days to what they are now, this is a nuanced love story between Chrollo and Shalnark. Each chapter is like a snapshot, usually before or after major canonical events. While not necessary, this fic is meant to be read alongside with When We Were Us.
